Prompt of the Week 🧠
Marketing Spend Audit → Find which channels are quietly burning cash and which deserve more budget.
Prompt:
You are my marketing finance analyst. Help me audit my marketing spend and reallocate budget for next month. Here is my data for the last 90 days: [Paste channel-by-channel: channel name, monthly spend, leads or signups generated, customers closed, revenue attributed (or "unknown"), and any qualitative notes] My business context: - Product / ACV: [e.g. $200/mo SaaS, $5K consulting package] - Sales cycle length: [e.g. 7 days, 6 weeks] - Total monthly marketing budget: [$X] - Goal for next month: [more leads / more revenue / lower CAC / brand] Do this in four passes: 1. Channel scorecard. Build a table with: channel, spend, CAC, payback period, confidence in attribution (high/med/low). Flag any channel where CAC > 1/3 of LTV or where attribution is too murky to judge. 2. Hidden waste. Identify the 1-2 channels most likely bleeding money (high spend, low confidence, long payback, or stale creative). Be blunt. 3. Underfunded winners. Identify 1-2 channels showing strong signal that I am under-investing in. Explain what "more" looks like (2x spend? new creative? expanded targeting?). 4. Reallocation proposal. Give me a specific dollar reshuffle for next month, keeping total budget constant. Then list the 3 measurements I should track weekly to know if the reshuffle is working. Be direct. If a channel should be killed, say "kill it" without hedging.
Where to use it: Founders and marketing leads running multi-channel acquisition (paid ads, content, SEO, sponsorships, outbound, affiliates) who need a monthly or quarterly reset on where dollars actually go. Especially useful before annual planning or when CAC is creeping up.
