Hey AI Breakers 👋
A PDF lead magnet gets downloaded and forgotten. A calculator that tells someone their own number gets used, bookmarked, and sent to a colleague. 🔢
Today, you’ll build an AI Lead Calculator Studio inside Claude Code that turns one question your buyers already ask into a live, on-brand calculator that collects emails.
Let’s build it 👇
🧠 How the AI Lead Calculator Studio Works
A PDF says “here’s what I know.” A calculator says “here’s your number,” and that’s why people come back to it.
The Studio runs seven chained prompts in one Claude Code project:
-
🗂️ Brief: Claude Code learns your business, buyer, offer and brand
-
🎯 Pick: you choose the one question buyers want answered
-
🧮 Spec: the math goes into a plain-English file you can check
-
🧱 Build: one index.html with the design, the math and the form
-
🧪 Test: Claude Code tries to break its own math, then fixes it
-
📬 Capture: the result turns into a signup and a follow-up email
-
🚀 Launch: a live link, plus a snippet for your website
The old way: a developer brief, a quote, and weeks of back-and-forth for a “simple” calculator.
The Studio way: about an hour in Claude Code, and a file you own forever
You need Claude Code and the email tool you already use. You’ll type into Claude Code, but you never write code yourself.
🗂️ Prompt #1 → The Project Brief (Teaching Claude Code Your Business)
Every later prompt reads the file this one creates. Get it right here, and you never explain your business again.
The goal:
-
A CLAUDE.md file with your business, buyer, offer, and brand
-
Hard rules against invented numbers, written down once
-
A site/ folder for the only file that ever goes public
✅ Use this to stop re-explaining your business at the top of every prompt.
Make a new folder called lead-calculator, open it in your terminal and type claude. Then paste this.
Prompt:
You are a conversion-focused web strategist who builds simple lead tools for small businesses. Set up a project for a free online calculator that will bring me leads. My business: [WHAT YOU DO IN ONE SENTENCE] My buyer: [WHO BUYS FROM YOU, e.g. owners of 5 to 50 person agencies] My paid offer: [WHAT YOU SELL + PRICE OR PRICE RANGE] My email tool: [e.g. MailerLite, Kit, Mailchimp] My website: [URL] Brand colors: [HEX CODES, or "pick them from the screenshot I attached"] Brand font: [FONT NAME, or "a clean system font"] My voice: [3 WORDS, e.g. direct, warm, no jargon] Do these things: 1. Create CLAUDE.md in this folder with a short, factual brief of everything above. No marketing language. 2. Add a section called "Calculator rules" with these rules: - Every number on the page is typed by the visitor or is an assumption I gave you, shown on the page and editable - Never invent industry averages, benchmarks or statistics - The visitor's numbers never leave their browser. Only the email they choose to submit is sent anywhere - One file: HTML, CSS and JavaScript together, no frameworks, no build step 3. Create an empty folder called site/. Only site/index.html will ever go online. 4. Show me CLAUDE.md and ask me to correct anything wrong. Do not skip step 4.
💡 Tip: Don’t know your hex codes? Drag a screenshot of your homepage into the Claude Code window and ask it to pick the colors.
🎯 Prompt #2 → The Calculator Picker (The Number Your Buyer Already Wants)
The best calculator answers a question your buyer asks right before they buy, like “What will this cost me?” or “Is it worth it?”
The goal:
-
5 calculator ideas tied directly to your paid offer
-
Each one scored on how badly your buyer wants the answer
-
One winner, with its inputs and its result
✅ Use this to build the calculator people use, not the one that’s easiest to make.
Prompt:
You are a lead generation strategist who designs interactive tools for service businesses and small software companies. Read CLAUDE.md. Here are the questions prospects ask me before they buy: [PASTE 5 TO 10 QUESTIONS FROM SALES CALLS, DMS OR EMAILS] Propose 5 free calculators my buyer would actually use. Mix these types: - Cost: "What will this cost me?" - Loss: "How much is this problem costing me right now?" - Return: "What do I get back if I fix it?" - Readiness: "Am I ready for this, and what is missing?" For each calculator give me: 1. A name and the one question it answers 2. The 3 to 6 inputs the visitor types (numbers they know without looking anything up) 3. The result they see: one headline number plus one sentence 4. Why someone would trade an email for the full breakdown 5. How the result leads naturally to my paid offer 6. A score from 1 to 5 for: urgency, easy inputs, surprising result, fit with my offer Rank them and recommend one. Do not build anything yet.
🧠 Tip: Inputs people know off the top of their head (”hours a week on invoices”, “new clients a month”) keep them on the page. Anything that needs a spreadsheet loses them.
🧮 Prompt #3 → The Formula Spec (Getting the Math Right Before Any Code)
A calculator with wrong math is worse than no calculator. So the math goes into a plain-English file you can check before a single line of code exists.
The goal:
-
Every input with a default, a minimum and a maximum
-
The formula in plain English, with every assumption labelled
-
3 worked examples you can check on your phone’s calculator
✅ Use this to catch the mistake now, not after a prospect screenshots it.
