Hey Everyone,

I’m watching WWDC so I can give an update tomorrow. Everyone’s expecting a reborn Siri at WWDC and an OpenAI partnership along with Apple Intelligence. Scroll down to my concluding analysis at the end.

In the 13 years since that initial launch, Siri has become a bit underwhelming, just like Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. With the promise of Generative AI, we’re all hoping for better versions of these voice-assistants.

No surprise here, ChatGPT (via GPT-4o) has literally been baked into Siri and other compose elements of Apple Intelligence.

Apple Intelligence also Abbreviates as “AI”

🍎 Apple has historically been a bit allergic to the term “AI”. The company long avoided using the acronym AI when talking about it, instead preferring to say machine learning. But, companies like OpenAI, Microsoft, Google, Amazon and Meta have popularized the term and are racing to add AI to core services, mostly to the benefit of Nvidia, which powers it.

Can Apple “catch up” in AI with iOS 18 and new capabilities for iPhones and Apple devices in 2024 and 2025?

Apple is Expected to Blitz AI into all of its Apps

Apple’s approach will integrate AI into many of its core apps and features, including Photos, Messages, Notes and the Safari browser. It will handle voice memo transcriptions and provide recaps of meetings, text messages, emails and articles. There also will be new bells and whistles like AI-created emojis. ~ Mark Gurman
