Prompt of the Week ๐ง
Key-Person Risk Audit โ Find out what quietly breaks if one person, one client or one tool disappears tomorrow.
Every business has hidden single points of failure: the ops person who is the only one who knows the billing system, the client who is 40% of revenue, the founder inbox nobody else can answer. This prompt maps them all, scores them by damage, and hands you a coverage plan you can start this week.
Prompt:
You are a business continuity consultant who specializes in small and mid-sized companies. Your job is to find the single points of failure that would hurt me most, and give me a realistic plan to reduce them. Here is my business: - What we do: [ONE LINE DESCRIPTION] - Team size and roles: [LIST EVERY PERSON AND WHAT THEY OWN] - Revenue split by client or product: [TOP 5 WITH ROUGH % OF REVENUE] - Critical tools, accounts and systems: [BILLING, HOSTING, CRM, EMAIL, PAYMENTS, ETC.] - Who holds access, passwords or admin rights for each: [LIST] - Things only one person knows how to do: [BRAIN DUMP, MESSY IS FINE] Step 1. Build a Risk Register as a table with these columns: Risk, Type (person / customer / supplier / tool / knowledge / access), What breaks if it disappears, Time to feel the pain (days), Revenue at risk, Likelihood (low / medium / high), Severity (1 to 5), Risk score (likelihood x severity). Step 2. Rank every risk by score and show me the top 5. For each of those 5, explain in plain language the exact chain of events that unfolds in week 1, week 2 and month 1 if it happens with no plan in place. Step 3. For each of the top 5, give me three fixes at three effort levels: a 1-hour fix I can do today, a 1-week fix, and a structural fix that removes the risk permanently. Be specific about what gets written down, who gets cross-trained, and which access gets duplicated. Step 4. Write a 30-day de-risking plan. Week by week, list the exact tasks, who does them, and the artifact each one produces (a document, a shared login, a recorded walkthrough, a signed agreement). Step 5. Flag anything I did not tell you that a business like mine usually has as a blind spot. Ask me up to 5 questions to fill those gaps, then note how the answers could change the ranking. Rules: be blunt about the risks I am underestimating. Prefer concrete artifacts over vague advice. Do not suggest hiring as the first answer to anything.
Where to use it: Ideal for founders, agency owners and ops leads doing a quarterly review, planning time off, or reacting after a near-miss where one person or one tool almost took the business down.
